DESHED DON'T SHAVE! You do not need to shave your double coated dog to cool them down. A deshed treatment will remove undercoat that's preventing airflow to your dogs biggest organ - the skin! Compacted undercoat can cause overheating and even skin problems. Shaving your double coated dog can worsen these issues and ruin their coat. I know it's quarantine but if your dog has tangles that you cannot comb out, please get them in for an appointment asap. This poor b guy had an entire THICK pelt, you could only feel his skin in certain places. I've never had to shave with a 10 blade and I did with this circumstance. His new owners are on top of brushing him and care about him so much, they have him on a schedule to help his coat grow back healthily and tangle-free. Double coated dogs like Pomeranians, Huskies, American Eskimos, Etc, they all can get compacted undercoat which will turn into mats and when the mats aren't taken care of it can pelt to the skin. This causes bruising, blood blisters, hair loss, also skin issues because the skin is t getting air it needs to stay healthy.
