AGHS Improv Team: GRIN & BARE IT 12.03.2021

Today in our Alumni Spotlight series which features graduates from Grin & Bare It Improv Team. Reaching out as they share memories from being on the team and their newest accomplishments. This week in the Spotlight Dylan Krebs, class of 2018. #aghsimprov #aghsgrinandbareit #aghsimprovalumni Dylan was a part of GRIN & BARE IT Improv from 2014-2018. One of the original members, he served as a Board Member for three years, and as the Team Manager for his last two years. Dylan’s ...favorite improv game is Inner Monologue and Famous Last Words a Lightning Round which are one-liners. One of the biggests benefits of doing improv,It’s a holistic way of framing my world; a flow of accepting what IS and reacting with 'okay, how can I add to this or play with it. It helped me to be thinking creatively constantly and most of all *Being present in the NOW*. His favorite memory being on the team, All of the rehearsals were all the NSFW jokes and stories could be played out before the PG shows hands down. Dylan recently graduated from PCPA in 2020, took a short career as a salmon fisherman, in Ketchikan, Alaska for 2 months. Now working as a Carpenter to learn a new trade while saving up while he studies theatre from home. My daily life has been relatively peaceful as I get to focus on as many passions -Theatre, literature, writing and carpentry as much as I’m willing to make time for. Finding time along with all this on weekends to turn off all media and go for a hike is a crucial part of my life now. Advice from Dylan, Your journey is your journey; accepting how you contribute to the team is enough and that without you the team would not be what it is. Remember to come to the work (and the rehearsals most importantly) with respect for each other and as aware of the people and space and story around you all the time. It’s also a game so enjoy it; if your stressed you're trying too hard.
