Sound on! A safari in Africa is a series of unforgettable moments; one more breathtaking than the other. You will be mesmerized by the African sunrise as your day starts with an early morning drive in an open vehicle and private guide. Along the way you will see various animals grazing and notice the gold of the sun reflect off the coat of impalas as they scamper out of the way, while others scan the tall grass for predators. The feeling of anticipation of what the morning w...ill bring is almost unbearable. The guide could point out a leopard with it's kill hoisted in the tree hidden from scavengers and around another corner you could see a pride of lions, maybe 10 or 15 lying around napping in the morning sun possibly with full bellies... or maybe not. When you get to a waterhole there could be a herd of buffalo or elephants frolicking around quenching their thirst. I could watch the elephants all day especially those adorable babies, so full of beans they even mock charge the vehicle, loudly trumpeting their displeasure at seeing you, while mum looks on amused! If you close your eyes you would hear the branches snap as they feed. The sounds of Africa... bird song, hippos grunting and baboons alarming at predators in the vicinity, will soothe and excite you at the same time. The first time you hear the roar of a lion, especially as you sit around a campfire at night, will make the hair on your arm stand straight up, your throat will close up just a little and there will definitely be butterflies in your tummy! It is truly one precious, unforgettable moment after another! Let us create the safari of your dreams! #greatsafaris #africa #southafrica #kenya #eastafrica See more

An exciting moment for guests getting ready to go on an afternoon drive...! What a stunning visitor right at the gate of the lodge! Later that afternoon they met up with another leopard, this time just hanging out in a tree. Listen for the sounds of the bush. So peaceful! #greatsafaris #safari #africa #greaterkruger #leopard

While cheetahs are not dangerous to giraffes as they are far too small to take one down, there are still some tense moments when they are in close proximity of each other. One of the female cheetahs has now chased off her cubs as they have fully grown up and are successfully hunting on their own. Africa is truly amazing! The incredible wildlife, dramatic landscapes, and unspoiled wilderness will definitely leave you with the feeling that some part of you remained behind. Africa is not just breathtaking, it is a state of mind and those sunsets though! So easy to explain scientifically, but impossible to describe the feeling it evokes, in words. Jodi Picoult said:- Africa You can see a sunset and believe you have witnessed the Hand of God and she is not wrong as each day goes out with a bang! Sipping a sundowner at the end of a fun-filled, adventure-packed African safari is an absolute must, as the horizon catches fire and the land gets painted in red and orange hues. Some of my favorite wines are from the world renown Cape Winelands in South Africa, so needless to say wine tasting tours are my fav activity when I visit. The wineries entice with fabulous food and wine pairings, and the well known ones in Stellenbosch and Franschhoek (just LOVE the wine tram) are a must see, however there are some off the beaten track wineries that have left me pleasantly surprised. One such area is Durbanville which is only 30 minutes from Cape Town and pe...rfect for a day trip. I scheduled my visit around sunset, my favorite time of day and it was spectacular! Cape Town is famous for its stunning sunsets and finding one that has a great wine, delicious food and a spectacular sunset made this spot in Durbanville unforgettable. What a magical experience! While Durbanville is better known for sheep farming and wheat production, it is part of South Africa’s new designation Wine of Origin Cape Town along with Constantia, Hout Bay and Philadelphia. You will find about 30 wineries in this new Cape Town wine district including the 12 official Durbanville wine farms. #winetasting #southafrica #Capetown #traveltuesday #travel See more

This magnificent leopard hunted the night before and hoisted his dinner up the tree to protect if from being stolen from other predators. He tried to cover up the evidence of the kill n the grass, but alas, a hyena must have picked up the smell anyway and waited patiently until some scraps fell out of the tree! Despite their size and strength, leopards are outranked by most of Africa's big predators (barring their sleeker cousins, the cheetahs). To avoid losing meals to thie...ving hyenas and lions, leopards will take their prey up into a tree and then return at night to feed. However it is not always easy to keep their prey up in the tree, and often pieces or the entire animal will fall into the mouths of predators waiting below. What a magnificent sighting though for the visitors being able to watch all this happening right in front of their vehicle!
