Lord, Hannah understood exactly who you are. When she prayed, No one is holy like the LORD! There is no one besides you, she nailed it (1 Samuel 2:2). May all who search for youthe powerful and the humblerecognize who you really are! Amen.

Lord, a government official who came to you in faithwhat a breath of fresh air! Many of those who serve in government also serve you, but they’re not always open about their faith. Help our government officials to feel secure in you. Amen.

Lord, Ruth laid it all on the line: She promised to go where Naomi went and follow you, no matter what. That’s my prayer and promise today: I’ll go where you lead me, Lordanywhere, anytime. I give my whole self to your will and way. Amen.

Lord, may our nation’s leaders speak words of encouragement as they lead us into the future. And may our words to leaders also encourage. Lift the weight of worry, Lord. Amen.

Lord, your church gave the world hospitals, orphanages, and many other practical ways to care for the sick and abandoned. Thank you for faithful believers who put faith into action, whose work shows your love to the world. How would you have me lead with compassion today, Lord? Amen.

Lord, the weight of leading a communityor even more, a nationis too much for only a few people to carry. Help guide our leaders’ choices as they select teams to work with them. Help them find supporters who are faithful, sensible, and honest. Amen.

Lord, in the days when Israel had no king, people did whatever they thought was right and sinned against you. Don’t let our country drift without leadership and do what is wrong in your sight. Give us leaders who will follow and obey you. Amen.

Lord, Moses knew when it was time to pass the baton of leadership. I pray the leaders in my community will be equally wise when considering whether they should continue serving. May they have the same humility as Moses when it’s time for them to step aside. Amen.

Lord, implant the truth of today’s proverb in the hearts of our leaders. May they speak truth that lasts forever; may they make plans for peace so that their hearts will be filled with joy. Amen.

Lord, these days seem dark and difficult in our nation. But you are the God who led your people through the Red Sea on dry ground. Things seemed dark then, but you provided freedom. Teach us also to follow you as our shepherd. Amen.
