Granite Bay Pediatric Dentistry would like to Welcome our Newest Clinical Provider to Join our Family of Gentle Dentist. Welcome Dr. Andrea Azevedo. Dr. Azevedo is a talented Doctor that we are excited to have on our Granite Bay Pediatric team. A native to Brazil, she began pursuing dental school in her home country. After her initial education was complete, her love for travel led her to the United States, where she expanded her dental education with a Masters Degree in Public Health. She then went on to the University of Alabama and University of Michigan to complete residency in Dental Public Health. Dr. Azevedo enjoys making people laugh and spending time with her family. Dr. David Mark Seman DDS,Ms I graduated from Northwestern University Dental School in 1982 and The Children’s Memorial Hospital Residency Program two years later after serving as Chief Pediatric Resident. Having been a specialist now for 36 years, I feel truly blessed to have been able to fulfill my lifelong dream of making a difference in the lives of children on a daily basis. I strive to perform the highest standard of care for my patients and my intent is that all profe...ssional care delivered at my office will be safe, comfortable and highly esthetic for each and every patient. I try to obtain cooperation from children with humor, friendliness, persuasion, gentleness, silliness, kindness, empathy, understanding and most of all compassion. I deeply believe that it’s all about a gentle experience, keeping the focus on the child while you show them how much you care. I always aspire for the highest levels of clinical excellence and love all aspects of dentistry. I incorporate the latest in technology and scientific advancements into preventative and restorative dental care for my patients. I particularly enjoy working with the special needs and medically compromised individuals as many of them are seen well into adulthood. I attend numerous local and national dental conferences on current topics and advances in field of Pediatric Dentistry and also visit the local schools to educate children on proper oral hygiene, diet, and doing well in class. In addition, I am active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, California Society of Pediatric Dentistry, The American Dental Association, California Dental Association and the Sacramento District Dental Society. I have 3 three amazing children Mitchell, 30, Teagan age 28, and Hunter 25 I enjoy spending the majority of my free time with family and their various activities, preoccupations and school functions. I also enjoy traveling with my grown kids and their families, exercising, scuba diving, snowboarding, hiking and visiting exotic places. I look forward to getting to know you and your children. Every child differs in the amount of trust that they will initially give a dentist, as well as the manner in which they can learn to give that trust. Dr. Seman and his experienced team have the natural ability to communicate with children. They ... use kind words and friendly terms that children can understand and relate to. Through this empathic approach, trust naturally follows . Many of our rooms have televisions mounted in the ceiling and that way your children can watch their favorite program while their teeth are cared for. If your child has a particular movie or television show that they would like to watch curs let its know and we will search our Roku Stream to try and find it. A little distraction can go along way for any of us . For over 35 years Dr Seman ha s treated thousands of children successfully with trust and clear communication. We as a practice have chosen not to resort to oral conscious sedation, general anesthesia or putting children to sleep. Due to the risks involved, we avoid such sedation procedures. In addition to avoiding the risks of sedation, we find that by treating conscious children, we can help them become much more accepting of dentistry in general . See more
