March 10th marks an anniversary many us would like to forget! COVID lockdowns and Safer at Home measures went into place. So many in our community were impacted. Jobs lost, kids home from school and seniors staying safe at home. The pandemic has adversely affected all of us in one way or another. What has been very heartening during a disheartening time is how the community has come together to meet the needs of those struggling. Volunteers delivering groceries, packing and s...orting groceries and serving hot meals. Donors digging deep and demonstrating generosity like we’ve never seen before. We are averaging 13,200 bags of groceries going to those in need every month! Those bags feed 2-4 people, that’s at least 26,000 people per month being fed in the midst of this pandemic! Never has Grace Resources distributed more food to those in need! Thank you all who have made this possible! Thank you to all who have been a part of bringing #hope2021! We are approaching that light at the end of the tunnel! Many are getting vaccinated, including some on our staff, but it is important to not let our guard down yet! We want to keep you, our clients and staff safe so please wear a mask and maintain physical distancing while at our facility. Donations - Our greatest need is food! We are committed to #feedingtheAV! We are in need of non-perishable, non-expired food with canned meats at the top of the list. Food donations can be brought by the Resource Center Monday-Friday from 9-3:30. We are accepting clothing and small household item donations. You can call us at (661) 940-5272 to set up a time to drop off those donations on Wednesdays and Fridays. Clothes must be clean and wearable. Donations of diapers and hygiene items can be donated Monday - Friday between 9am and 3:30pm. The Barn - Our small store is now open. Hours are 9:30 - 11:30am Clothing Distribution - Those in need of clothing and/or shoes will be able to come pick out clothing Tuesday - Thursday from 12:30 -1:30. It’s critical you follow all safety protocols! If you do not have a mask we can provide one. Food distributions: Tuesday - walk up groceries 10am; drive-thru groceries 1pm; hot meal 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month Wednesday - walk-up groceries for our Spanish-speaking clients 10am; hot meal every week 5:30pm Thursday - walk-up groceries 10am; drive-thru groceries 1pm Friday - hot meal served every week 5:30pm Sunday - hot meal served every week 5:30pm If you are quarantined or unable to leave your home and live in Lancaster or Quartz Hill you can sign up for a weekly grocery delivery at projectdoordrop.com Remember, you are welcomed to every hot meal and can receive groceries once per week. Here at Grace Resources we are committed to bring hope, meet needs and give grace! On a daily basis we deliver groceries, pass out hygiene items, clothing and serve hot meals. Sometimes when a new face comes to us they haven't had a meal in a few days. You see their face light up as we serve them a hot meal and hand them a cold drink. Grocery walk up! Today we were able to bless 20 people with groceries (dairy, milk, meat, bananas, non perishable foods, etc!) this morning at our grocery drive thru! It’s hard to believe Thanksgiving is behind us and Christmas it just days away! Thank you to so many of you who have donated your time, talents and treasures to make possible all that has been done to help others through Grace Resources! I am particularly gratefully for our staff. Our staff is as small as it has been in over a decade! They have worked tirelessly to serve thousands of people during this season while being on the front lines of the #COVID19 pandemic. Beginning... Monday, we are going to take a couple of days off. We will be closed for client services 12/21-12/25 and will be back in the office on 12/28. Hot meals will be served on Wednesday at 5:30pm, Christmas Day at 11:00am (first 100 served) and Sunday 12/27 at 1:30pm.
