Psalm 91:1-2 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust. Encouraging promises from the Lord Most High. We can rest in His protection and run to Him for shelter. The word dwells came from the Hebrew word "yashab" which means to sit down, settle, remain, inhabit. The Lord invites us to sit down with Him in a quiet secret place meant specifically for you and for me. It's in that place He speaks to our heart.
Psalm 127:3-5 "Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, The fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one’s youth.... Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them; They shall not be ashamed." They are a gift, not a burden. When you feel overwhelmed, refocus and look up. The Lord promises to give you new strength.
All households, whether its members are large or small, come with various personalities. Some are rambunctious and loud, shy and quiet, opinionated, encouraging, emotional, etc. the list goes on! So many characteristics make up the family unit. I love how God created us to be different and unique, otherwise, what a boring robotic life we would live if we were all the same. Embrace the differences and continue teaching children by your example to develop a personal relationship with God by reading His word. The bible has the power to change us to be more like Jesus. We are raising our children for God’s glory and to bring honor to Him.
3 John 1:4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth. The heart and desire of every Christian parent is for their children to have a personal relationship with their Creator. We teach them to read their bibles, to have personal prayer time and to trust and have faith in God. We live our lives as examples, we fail, we sin, we make mistakes, and we get back up and dust ourselves off. When we understand that our children will go through the same life struggles as we do, our expectations of perfection will change to allowing more grace and mercy. Every situation is a learning experience. When you feel defeated, go back to God’s promises in His word and trust Him. He will never fail us, He doesn't make mistakes and we always have victory in Him when we surrender our all.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 "All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. Our pastor has been reminding us of this scripture in most of his sermons. We all need a little reminding don't we? The bible truly does have the answer to all of life's questions. We use scripture to teach our children to love God and family, to be kind and respectful, how to resolve conflict and misunderstandings. Some people think the bible is a rule book. The bible is history..."His Story". It is really God's love letter to us.

Prov 19:21 You can make many plans, but the LORD’s purpose will prevail It’s good to have a plan and to have goals for our lives, but are we making sure we prioritize those plans and goals to include God first? What does your calendar look like right now? Are you marking out time for the Lord? Do you ever find yourself working through a list of to-dos and you get pulled away for something more pressing? A crying child, a husband who forgot his lunch, a friend in need? What’...s more important? Sometimes, you need to let the to-do list go. That small still voice you hear is the Holy Spirit leading you to a greater need and purpose. Your crying child will not be a child forever, bringing your husband his forgotten lunch will bless him and that friend in need will be grateful you took time out to listen and pray. Allow the Lord to interrupt your plans for His purpose. See more

Congratulations class of 2020! Proverbs 22:6 Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it.... Matthew 6:33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
Encouraging words from homeschool mom, Heather Plaschka.
Summer has officially started. This does not mean teaching our children is over for now. Take advantage of this break to get more creative in your child’s learning. What are their interests? Do they like to cook? Use this time to teach them to cook reading step by step instructions. Are they artistic? Encourage them to help with a painting or building project around the house. Yes, it may take longer to accomplish certain tasks and this is when you as a parent live out your patience in front of them. If a family vacation is not likely in these current circumstances, set-up a tent in your backyard and roast marshmallows. There are many possibilities for continued learning. Most importantly, continue teaching God’s word. Do they understand the gospel? Help your children develop a personal relationship with their Savior.
Childlike faith In Matthew 18:1-5, The disciples ask Jesus, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven? Jesus called a child to Him as an example and answers, In order to enter the kingdom of God you need to become like children. From the time they’re born, children are like little sponges absorbing what they see and what they hear. They are very trusting and they quickly forgive. Their innocent minds and hearts learn and grow from their surroundings. They are completel...y dependent on their caregivers for safety, shelter, nourishment and knowledge. Childlike faith is a very humble quality that requires total surrender. Faith is essential in the Christian life. Children are put in our care by God for a very short season. How are we displaying our faith in God in front of them? When life is hard and when it feels like the walls are pressing in, do we show our children where we go for faith, for comfort, for answers? Do we have childlike faith that is completely dependent on God for our care. Do our children know we trust and believe He is in total control regardless of what's happening around us? The bible truly has all the answers. We just need to be the conversation starters in our children's lives. Homeschool mom, Janet Cobb, recommends two resources that can be used to start conversations with your children: Crain, Natasha (2017). Talking with Your Kids About God and Talking with Your Kids About Jesus: 30 conversations every Christian parent must have. Baker Books
