Mom told me at the end of the session that her oldest is so into sports and climbing stuff that she has hopes that he might be an athlete or a sports photographer. I just love that she was focused on his interests when thinking about his future!

Take a sneak peek of last night's session! I'm probably lucky I didn't get to hang out with this crew until I already decided I was done having babies because let me tell you that the baby fever was real when I left this session. This group of kiddos were all so sweet and funny that it almost made four kids look easy. Even though I'm sure it isn't actually easy, I'm also 100% sure the extra work is worth it for the extra love this family has.

So.. I'm just going to say this. I don't know if I should feel insulted or impressed that you all KNEW that I would be the one to print Christine's face on a t-shirt. Don't mind the poorly fitting shirt, I actually gave my shirt to my nephew so he could wear his mom's face around the house as well. This is my husband's shirt, because yes I did have multiple shirts made <3 Tell us about how you love to tease your siblings in the comments :) And if you are feeling sorry for my sister. Don't. When we were kids I was terrified of showering. She would wait until I got out of the shower and came outside to play, and throw mud at me so I'd have to go shower again. Awww, sibling love.

Ok! So, backstory here, one of us was in a conference when someone took a picture of them looking super bored. Someone then edited their face to be silly and sent the picture in a text that said, you’ve never looked as happy as you do right now. One of us then forwarded that text to their sister, which was a bad choice. Then the sister who received the text, printed the words and picture onto a t-shirt. So, now y’all need to guess which sister had the other sister’s face printed on a t-shirt that she randomly wears to social gatherings? Most notably Christmas at our Aunt’s house.

Buckle up, y’all, it is story time! Jen and I have been planning a mountain top shoot for over a month. We’d spent days location scouting for the PERFECT view up at #MountLaguna, had a carefully crafted posing flow, and put together a mood board. Saturday, the day of the shoot, rolls around, our subject sends a selfie of her awesome make-up job-you know you’re committed once the make-up artist starts-, and then BAM! Fire! I wasn’t sure if we should stick to our pla...nned shoot because of the #valleyfire that had just started. Thankfully, when I called Jen, just a little panicked, she reality checked me about just how far away the fire really was from our shoot location. And she was right. The shoot gave me a few hours of fun and serious mountaintop magic instead of hours of obsessively watching fire updates, while also bringing me farther away from the fire. My husband is such a trooper. It was looking like it might be the second time he’d be on a solo mission to pack up the cars, the pets, and the boy, on 100+ degree days, and evacuate our home because of a fire. Last time this happened I had a wedding and was blissfully unaware of how close the fire raged to our home. For those checking in, we’re a-okay at the moment and have an evac plan. The winds shifted, so now I’m more concerned for my students. And you people think the goofball on the rock is the one getting her Master’s degree? Well, you’re right. Kachuga Kachuga Kachow.

Look. Mom. Dad. We KNOW that photo sessions with small kids can feel stressful and overwhelming. It can feel like a lot of work.
