The IRS said Monday that the tax-filing season will start Jan. 28 meaning that the agency will start accepting returns on time this year despite the partial government shutdown. NBC News reports the IRS says it will give U.S. taxpayers an additional day to file returns after "system issues" Tuesday. Wednesday, April 18 is the new deadline to file. "Taxpayers do not need to do anything to receive this extra time," a spokesperson tells NBC News.
