Every crew has their own standard on how many years you need to put in to earn a belt buckle. Whether it be one year, two years, or three years. For us, in order to earn a buckle you need to put in 5 years with the crew. That’s a lot of blood, sweat, and tears. Congrats to these three for earning their buckle this year. With the crew going available this week we wanted to recognize Rick Madrigal. We may be a little late on this post, but earlier this year Rick moved on from the crew to spend more time with the family. Rick has been with the crew since it was established in 2000. Over his 19 years (last 5 as Supt) he has done a tremendous amount for the crew. Thanks for everything and best of luck on everything to come, Rick!

This week a few of us had the privilege to sit down with a young man named Kevin. Kevin (16) asked if he could come out to the station to pay us a visit and ask a few questions about the job. Little did we know he was going to take a bus and then walk 9 miles to get there. Had a nice chat with him, gave him a little tour, and let him try one of our packs.
