Still trying to figure out all the hype on this tapered sprue/spin trap. Ive had multiple pours side by side with big straight sprue and the little tapered one. After about 2 weeks I now have a custom 1 off power steering pump head bracket. Wasn't easy, but was fun trying to figure out the amount of shrinkage from pattern to casting. Swipe to see how the dash got to this point. This dash started as a hand carved pice of plywood then was cast in aluminum. Very fun project, first casting that shrinkage actually made a difference. Had to modify the brackets that held each gauge in to get everything to fit. The gauges were freebies from a past project, unfortunately the matching fuel gauge didn't work with the sending unit in the tank, luckily i was able to come up with one that was same style but a little faded but it works for now. 100% hand made and cast in our small family foundry. #sandcasting #ford #keyholder #foundry #handmade #goddardscustomcreations #metalcasting

Been a while since posting any projects, still currently working on the Goddard Family Fj40 the previous owner had some wonky brackets for the alternator and power steering. I was able to get most of the stock SBC brackets from a engine my dad had out of another vehicle. First 2 pictures show prototype brackets for the power steering pump, the stock attached to the factory exhaust manifold. 3rd pic shows the engine we got the parts from. Last picture shows the old location of the alternator (held by hand) and new location. All the factory brackets will make the belts shorter and hopefully stop the squeaking at high rpm. 100% hand made and cast in our small family foundry. #sandcasting #ford #keyholder #foundry #handmade #goddardscustomcreations #metalcasting
