We are always told not to touch power lines, but why can birds do it? Birds and other small animals on power lines do not get shocked because they are not good conductors of electricity. Power lines are made of copper, which a great conductor of electricity. Electricity always travels along the easiest path, so it will move along the copper, not through the birds.... Electricity will also move between areas of different voltage.
