WEATHER UPDATE FROM NWS: Cooler temperatures today with Valley highs in the 80s. Warmer temperatures return this weekend along with elevated fire weather concerns. Another period of gusty winds is expected this weekend into early next week which will lead to elevated fire weather conditions. Continue to keep up to date with the forecast and be prepared for another breezy and dry weekend.... With warm and dry conditions remaining, please continue practicing wildfire safety. High temperatures across interior NorCal today will be similar to Monday's readings.... Mountain snow could cause travel issues in the mountains late this week. Valley Rain expected for late in the week. The forecast details are uncertain, but there could be mountain snow late this week into early next week. A better chance of rain and snow will occur late Friday and into Saturday. Travel impacts in the mountains will be possible as accumulating snowfall is expected at pass levels. PRESS RELEASE: Homicide Willows, CA Monday November 09, 2020 Glenn County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to investigate a report of a man with a gunshot wound lying in the roadway on North Humboldt St. near the Cedar Hills Apartment Complex. The incident occurred around 10:44 PM on Saturday November 7, 2020. Citizens in the area reported hearing a single gunshot and seeing two people running from the area toward the apartment complex. Glenn County Sheriff’s Deputies and... EMS arrived at the location and provided medical aid for the gunshot victim. The injured man was transported by ambulance to Glenn Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries. Glenn County Sheriff’s Deputies identified the Decedent as 28-year-old Daves Fernandez. Fernandez last known address was listed as transient out of Corning CA. Deputies determined the death to be suspicious and the investigation was turned over the Glenn County Sheriff’s Office Investigative Task Force. The investigation is in the early stages and a motive for the shooting has not yet been determined. While Deputies were investigating the above incident a 17-year-old male who lives in the area where the shooting occurred was admitted to Glenn Medical Center with a stab wound. The Glenn County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating whether the two incidents are related. Anyone with information regarding the circumstances surrounding these investigations are urged to contact the Glenn County Sheriff’s Office Investigative Task Force.
