With a heavy heart and much graditude to friends, family and the wonderful people of Three Rivers, we are closing our little Gallery at The Barn. I continue to paint and sculpt in my studio while I offer art classes online. A special thanks to my daughter Arielle for making it all come together and putting your heart, soul and great sense of design into a dream that is only on hold for now. A very, very special thank you to my granddaughter Leia for bring joy to my world everyday!

"Snowy Creek" oil on canvas, 24"x 72" $2000. This is a panoramic view of the Kaweah River behind Lodge Pole about 2 miles from Tokopah Falls at the head waters... of this majestic river. We are looking south on the left side of the painting and north on the right side. I was attracted to the location because of the way the light fell across the snow in bands from one end of this nearly still stream to the other. Painting on location in the winter offers freedom from the bugs, however you quickly become aware of the limited time available to you since the light seems to change more quickly and your toes soon lose feeling. I started this piece more concerned about capturing the proper hues of violet and blue tones that contrasted so gloriously with the auburn reds and golds of the surrounding forest. The unorthodox size is an attempt to focus attention on the incredible light along this frozen stream. Oil on canvas. See more

"Blue Angel" 55.75"x35.75" oil on canvas, original $10,000. (20% of sale will be donated to local homeless shelters, TBD) A weekend of camping in Bodego Bay lead to the comforts of a hotel room and a chance encounter on Market Street in San Francisco. Running to catch a cable car I snapped a couple of photos of this wondering soul with steel blue eyes and collection of badges, patches, buttons and so much more. He is a popular fixture in the windy city, so I've been told. Realizing only much later the missed opportunity after seeing the few badly titled photos, I recreated the setting in charcoal then oils for this piece.

"Imagine" 16"x20" oil on canvas, $3000. As an only child Arielle loved her books and would sit for hours lost in her imagination. In the evening reading by candle light added to the magic as shadows danced about the room performing for their audience of one.

: "Flags for Sale" 18"x24" oil on canvas. original $3000 Living in Goleta we frequented the coastal town of Ventura and it's many down town street fairs and festivals. On one 4th of July activity I happen to come upon an enterprising young lady peddling her wears in front of an antique store. She was very protective of her flags and privacy. When I asked if I could take her photograph she gave me a look that suggested she had better things to do with her time, and if I wasn't buying a flag then I could get lost. In other words, she ignored me, dismayed and a little hurt I lowered the camera and as I did so I clicked off this shot. I don't care if she liked it or not, I had to paint her and her Flags for Sale stand.

Spring just outside of Anchorage Alaska I was impressed how the mountains rise from the valley floor as they slowly shed their winter covering and this power bull bison and his very serene herd were doing the same with their winter coats. Oil on Canvas $2000.
