CONFIRMED-Donations to the Big Sur Health Center will make my birthday wish come true. Help me raise my goal of $3,900 for non-profit community health. Big Sur... Health Center gives care to everyone that walks through the door regardless of their ability to pay. Comprehensive community family medicine is as American as apple pie. Big Sur Health Center has been at the center of our community's leadership during the Covid-19 crisis all while taking a financial hit because of cancelled or postponed non-essential visits. We are beyond lucky to have Big Sur Health Center as our primary family care facility in Big Sur. Big Sur Health Center gives comprehensive medical care regardless of one's ability to pay. But here's the piece that's tough to put in words: When you're a patient at the Big Sur Health Center, you are held; you are truly cared for by the nurses, practitioners, and administrators that treat you. You are a person in everything that you bring with you, you are never just a statisti...c or a patient number. If family medicine nationwide was more like the care one receives at the Health Center, the state of our society would be immeasurably better. Imagine a world where your primary care provider knows you, cares deeply for and about you, and defines their success as your wellbeing. The world would be a better place if we could all show up with a skinned knee and rather than just a bandaid, also have a shoulder to cry on. Heroes come in all forms, and I applaud the heroes that are the team at Big Sur Health Center.
