Denim Day is a campaign that started when a ruling by the Italian Supreme where a rape conviction was overturned because the justices felt that the victim must have helped the person who raped her because she was wearing tight jeans, thereby implying consent. The following day, the women justices came into court wearing jeans in order to protest. Consent must always given. What a person wears DOES NOT imply consent. #denimday #consent

Today is International Transgender Day of Visibility! Trans rights are human rights. You're not a feminist if you exclude whole groups of people from gender equality and health care. Take the time to educate yourself on trans issues and make sure to learn proper language and take action. At the link in the bio we've added a website where you'll find information on how to either call or email the governors of the states with anti-trans bills and demand that they veto the bill...s. You can be an ally by: - Amplifying trans voices and listening. - Follow trans creators. - Do not out them. - Using correct pronouns. Always be respectful. - Put your pronouns in your bio. - Don't use their dead name or bring it up. - Don't ask inappropriate questions. - Educate yourself and educate others.

UPDATE: Two other victims have been identified. Julie Park Hyeon Jeong Park... Since March 2020, there have been 3,795 REPORTED anti-Asian hate incidents. About 503 of those incidents have been reported in 2021. We need to acknowledge that racism, misogyny and white supremacy have driven these attacks on the Asian community. These are hate crimes. This is what you can do to help. 1. Follow organizations like @stopaapihate @advancing_justice_atl @aaajalc @aafc.nyc @butterflycsw @napawf @sendchinatownlove that support Asian communities and are providing information and aid. 2. The link in the bio has a link to Anti-Asian Violence resources like stats, news updates, educational resources, petitions, donation sites, how to report an incident, and mental health outreach. 3. Educate yourself, educate your family, and educate your friends. Don't forget to take action. #stopasianhate
