On this day in 2012, our adjudicators tackled the tricky task of measuring the largest ever pizza, which had a total surface area of 1,261.65 m (13,580.28 ft)... and was prepared by Dovilio Nardi, Andrea Mannocchi, Marco Nardi, Matteo Nardi and Matteo Giannotte from NIPfood at Fiera Roma, in Rome, Italy The gargantuan gluten-free pizza was named Ottavia, a word of Roman origin for "eighth son", as a homage to the first Roman emperor Octavian Augustus.
