In case you're curious, here is the updated vote tally from the county for last week's election. The first City Council meeting with the new candidates will be on December 14th.

We did it -- I'm happy to tell you I won a seat on the Lafayette City Council! Certainly a team effort, and I thank all of you for your support: placing yard signs, donations, writing letters, telling friends about me, sending your good thoughts, and giving me your vote! Thank you, thank you. Special thanks to team: my stellar co-campaign managers, Michael Cass, and my amazing husband Michael Dawson (a "Michael Dream Team"!) and Glenn Robert Cass, Treasurer. Also thanks to g...raphic designer extraordinaire Ed Stephen, the wonderful Lynn Cass, consultant-at-large Kris Johnson, and Lynn MacMichael. I'm looking forward to doing good work for all of you on City Council. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to do so! #lovelafayette

On the eve of election day I wish my fellow candidates Cam Burks, Carl Anduri, and Farschad Farzan well and send my sincere gratitude to them for running informed, respectful campaigns in service of the community. As was mentioned repeatedly on the campaign trail, and I wholeheartedly agree, this is a well-qualified field of candidates, eager to serve fellow residents, in navigating the uncertain "now" while planning for the even brighter future of Lafayette. No matter the outcome of tomorrow's election, I look forward to working together to make Lafayette an even better, safer community. And as a wise friend said recently, I hope we all end tomorrow evening happy, and not just because the campaign is over. Onward!

Thank you friends, supporters and neighbors for volunteering to display our yard signs. It's been a thrill driving through town and seeing so many being displayed!

10 days! Please let us know if you'd still like a yard sign (or if yours blows during Sunday's wind), but most importantly: remember to vote early. Stay safe. #earlyvotingday

Current forecasts predicts the strongest windstorm of the year across northern California starting on Sunday. Now is a smart time to review your plan for possible wildfire evacuation and to ready the supplies you'd need to bring with you. It's Throwback Thursday! As we prepare to watch tonight's Presidential Debate, I'm thinking about how much I enjoyed our recent Lafayette forums for City Council. In case you missed it, here's one -- the video of the forum hosted by Inclusive Lafayette and Sustainable Lafayette. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fEu2QDwmBwQ&t=4614s #TBT #LoveLafayette #Sustainability #lafayettecitycouncil

Had a fun time taking a break from the campaign last night by volunteering with Michael at the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano. Great organization serving people in need.

I'm celebrating Filipino-American Heritage Month by remembering my amazing dad, Dr. Leonardo S.J. Martin. He emigrated from the Philippines in the 1950s and practiced medicine for 40 years, serving proudly with the CA State Medical Board for 18 years under four different governors. Cheers to you, Pops, and the legacy of love and integrity you leave behind for your family and the doctors you put through their paces to practice good medicine in California. Salamat! #FilipinoAmericanHistoryMonth

Did you take part in today's great "Shake Out" drill? It's not too late to practice for what will happen during the next big earthquake! #ShakeOut is an international safety day marking the 31 year anniversary of the Loma Prieta earthquake in California.

If I am elected to City Council, it will be the second time in our history that Lafayette has had a women majority-led Council. The first time was many years ago, when Gayle Uilkema, Judy Garvens, and Anne Grodin served together. What a line-up! I celebrate all the women who've served on our City Council through the years, especially as we mark 2020 as the 100th anniversary of women's right to vote. Celebrate and exercise your right to vote!
