Also at Thursday evening’s virtual Spice of Life Awards ceremony, Danielle Russell was given the Susan Valenta Youth Leadership Award! Danielle served as Secretary on Gilroy Foundation’s Youth Board and has raised money through grants and donations to place headstones on the unmarked graves of veterans at Gavilan Hills Cemetery. A former Fiscal Sponsorship of Gilroy Foundation, the Gilroy Hot Springs Conservancy has now received its own tax exempt status and has a goal to reopen the Springs in fall 2021 one weekend per month for soaking, camping, restored cabin rentals and day use of the 280 acre property. But they need help for final approval from California State Parksthe remaining total cost for the 1st phase reopening is $90k. IT'S A WRAP!! In partnership with Gilroy Chamber of Commerce, Gilroy Foundation collected $4,915 from generous Gilroy donors during the Gilroy Helping Heroes campaign. Donations would provide much needed PPE products for our local St. Louise Regional Hospital. With funds collected, we were able to provide and deliver 25 bottles of Hand Sanitizer, 30 Protect Masks and 5,700 Medical Grade Nitrile Gloves in various sizes. ...
