Ghirardelli will be supporting BART & their contractor during the replacement of the A75 Interlocking in Hayward, as part of the Bond Measure RR Track Interlocking Replacement program. BART R65 Shutdown Weekend #5 Mar 12 through Mar 15, 2021 During the weekend of March 12 through March 15, the San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) completed the final surfacing at the R65 Interlocking & refurbishment work at a high rail access point. This included 160 feet of track replacement & installation of new concrete crossing panels. Featured Project Friday - Caltrans Eureka 4th Street ADA Project! As of May 2020, Ghirardelli is providing construction management support on the Caltrans Eureka 4th Street ADA Project. This $9.7 million dollar safety improvement project runs along southbound 101 (4th Street) on the northside of Eureka, CA.... The project will include upgrades to the curb ramps along 4th Street to current ADA standards. This will improve mobility by increasing the number of lanes from two to three on 101 (4th Street), entering Eureka from V Street to P Street, where 4th Street currently is three lanes wide. Featured Project Friday - Caltrans Eureka-Arcata Route 101 Corridor Improvement Projects! Ghirardelli is providing construction management support to Caltrans on the Eureka-Arcata Route 101 Corridor Improvement Projects. This includes lengthening acceleration & deceleration lanes, installation of a cable median barrier, replacement of tide gates, & replacement of the Jacoby Creek Bridge. For the Jacoby Creek Bridge (pictured below), which is located between Eureka & Arcata, C...altrans is constructing a new SB bridge adjacent the existing bridge, which will be constructed on temporary abutments. After the bridge is complete, traffic will be diverted onto the new structure while the old bridge is demolished. Once new permanent abutments are built on the original alignment, the new superstructure (the deck) will then be slid onto the new abutments during a one-night closure, putting Route 101 southbound back to the original alignment. This 27-mile project will add highway lanes & operational improvements to provide mobility choices for motorists on Interstate 5 (I-5) in northern San Diego. The project extends along I-5 from La Jolla Village Dr. in San Diego to Vandegrift Blvd. in Oceanside. I-5 is the lifeline connecting San Diego to Los Angeles County, Orange County, & Baja California. Average daily traffic on I-5 is more than 200,000 vehic...les & is projected to increase to more than 300,000 vehicles by 2030. Two Express Lanes in each direction will be added, from La Jolla Village Dr. to Vandegrift Blvd., & will be free for carpools, vanpools & buses, & available to single-occupant vehicles for a fee. Operational improvements, such as auxiliary lanes & local freeway interchange modifications, will be added in key locations to improve traffic flow. Environmental enhancements will preserve, protect, & restore hundreds of acres of critical coastal habitat & improve 27 miles of bike lanes & pedestrian paths along the coast & throughout local lagoon areas.
