We are happy to report that steam locomotive - SP2472, our GP9 - SP3194, and our Fairbanks Morse - SP1487 have all safely rolled across the switch to our secured storage at Schelleville!! Now the hard work begins! Photo Credit: Steve Coon
It was a very long Saturday and Sunday for the crew from the GGRM. Thanks to the Niles Canyon Railwayin getting us set out at Hearst! Most of all we want to thank the Union Pacific Railroad and their crews for all of their assistance and support for our special move. Currently the SP2472, SP1487, and SP 3194 have been safely switched out to the Wye on the California Northern Railroad / Genesee & Wyoming Railroad, where they will be picked up by the Northwestern Pacific Rail...road Company early this week. Until then they are under supervision, and are not open for visitors. We hope to announce an open house & display train here in the not to distant future. As a reminder, the equipment is located on the private property of an operating railroad. Please do not trespass! If you have pictures you would like to share please do. Photo Credit to Steve Coon

We are pleased to announce that the first two cars have been picked up from the Hearst interchange at the Niles Canyon Railway and are en-route to the Northwestern Pacific Railroad!! It’s been a while in the works and we are glad to be on the road! The expected routing is Hearst -> warm springs -> Stockton -> CalNorthern -> NWP We’d appreciate any pictures you might take of the equipment on the way. However, please do not trespass on the railroad right of way to do so! Tag them with #ggrm Thank you to the Union Pacific Railroad local crew for getting us on the road!
