Our filter coffee and single origin espresso selections rotate daily to highlight the variety of our coffee menu offerings and give our community a chance to experience the range of great coffees out there. We’ve been selling bags of a blend we named Abolish the Prison-Industrial Complex for the last few weeks and contributing $5 from each sale to @dignityandpowernow, but this weekend this blend of two super sweet Ethiopian coffees from Guji will be our only filter coffee option available. $1 from every single filter coffee sold will also go toward @dignityandpowernow,an LA based grassroots organization fighting for the dignity and power of all incarcerated people, their families, and communities. Come through and drink filter coffee! We want to raise thousands.

Coffee from Kenya is distinctly recognizable for its fragrance, intense flavors like currants and tropical fruits, and complex acidity. However, the past few years have been difficult for these producers, largely because of droughts, high incidences of pests and diseases, along with rising costs and decreasing productivity. While these challenges persist, producers continue to push for the high quality coffees for which they’re known. This week and next, our Coffee Club membe...rs will be receiving our first Kenyan coffee of the season. This peaberry coffee from the Thimu processing station represents the hard work of over 750 members of the Baragwi Farmers Cooperative Society in Kirinyaga. Extremely high growing altitude and long fermentation times help lend these coffees the ridiculous depth and character for which they’re known. This coffee is juicy as heck. PEOPLE OF SANTA MONICA: Today is the opening day for our Main Street cafe and we couldn’t be happier to be serving one of our favorite neighborhoods. GGET Santa Monica is located at 2645 Main Street between Ocean Park and Hill Street. For the past 18 years this spot has operated as Amelia’s Espresso & Panini and we know how adored and essential Amelia, Gianni and Ralph are to this community. We will never fill their enormous shoes, but we’ll bust our asses trying. Our Santa Monica shop is open every day from 8am until 3pm. We can’t wait to see you all.
