Back in early July, I drove to Get-A-Bike in Bakersfield, CA (closest Orbea dealer/rep) to see about buying a new Orbea Orca OMX. Fernando Gonzales (the owner) immediately sat down with me and logged-in to Orbea’s web site, and found that the complete bike that I wanted was showing a shipping date at least 6+ months out. He offered to check on a frame set, and since I have always assembled my own bikes, that would not be a problem. The frame set in the size I wanted was sh...owing a shipping date of 3 weeks (far better than than the 6-7 months for a complete bike!). Within a day, Fernando had the information on what sizes and colors were available as frame sets (colors were a bit limited so this would not be a custom color bike as Orbea now offers), however I was perfectly fine with one of the colors available. The frame set was ordered immediately, and Fernando worked with me on sourcing all the pieces for the group (from multiple sources since there were many items on back-order). Within 3-4 weeks, Fernando had just about all the parts I needed to put the bike together. I could not have obtained this bike (or in my case: all the parts to build this bike), without the help of Fernando and Get-A-Bike. He really went far beyond what a typical bike shop would do for customer service. A-1, first class! PS: The bike is a *dream* to ride: Solid, smooth and predictable. By far the nicest road bike I’ve ridden.
