The staff and I have modified our cleaning procedures and guest interactions to conform with CDC / Airbnb requirements. Our new cleaning procedures have, in some cases, doubled the time it takes to complete cabin cleaning, disinfecting, linen exchange and set-up. We’re committed to providing a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our guests. With this in mind, please understand that check in times may be pushed back 30 minutes, an hour, or more. It’s a rare occurren...ce but on busy days you will be informed hours before your expected arrival time and we will update regularly. The second thing is personal contact. I miss the days where I could walk up to a cabin and shake my guests hand and thank them for choosing my cabin. Occasionally an excited child would march up to me with open arms, and squeeze me like long lost uncle, unable to contain their joy. It’s an amazing experience. And now I fear, just another causality of the thing. So instead of meeting every guest personally you may get a phone call, maybe I’ll say hi from the parking area, and just maybe, sometime soon, I’ll get to shake your hand again. Either way you’re going to have a great vacation. I’ll make sure that never changes. Doug

This has been a Big Bear summer like nothing before. From lockdown to booked solid. From ghost town to #1 Airbnb destination worldwide. And no sign of slowing down. The new normal is a blessing and a curse. I’m grateful for working in a local industry that’s flourishing, but there’s no celebration knowing others have watched there livelihood disappear.

We don’t know what we have until it’s taken away. Celebration dinner on the Oakside patio with my daughter Marisa and friend Tiffany. We felt like royalty, being served by restaurant staff. Please support local businesses and make a reservation at one of our local establishments.

What a difference a week makes. I’ve received more reservations in the last 8 days than I booked the entire month of May 2019. I know the quarantine has affected everyone financially. My business losses are over $22,000. I’m truly grateful that I have a business to resurrect. Many in town or not so fortunate.... I want to thank each and every guest who’s stayed at Georgia cabin, or any of my other properties. Your business means more than ever.
