Are you feeling the weight of 12 months of COVID-19 lockdown? Us too. "Normal" feels as if it were eons ago and anxiety has become part of our everyday experience. Every layer of our life has become infused with stress, and we collectively feel emotionally burnt out. All of this practice with anxiety makes it easier than ever to allow fear to become the lens through which we view everything and by which we make decisions. ... It doesn’t have to be this way. Our latest article explores how we can STOP anxiety from taking over our minds, hearts, and lives. One of the points we make is the encouragement to "stop catastrophizing". Do you set unrealistic goals and then beat yourself up for not meeting them? Do you constantly feel as if you are behind the curve or an imposter? Do you avoid activities because you think you'll fail at them?... Do you "play it safe" and avoid "tempting fate"? Do you tell yourself that you need to exercise but list reasons why you can't: "I'm just too busy" "I'm tired all the time. There's no way I have enough energy for a workout" "I just don't have the right equipment" "I've never been good at exercise. I'll probably just hurt myself" At the heart of all these reasons is one thing: avoidance stemming from perfectionism. Sound crazy? Just hear me out: It's easy to adopt an all or nothing mentality. We scroll on instagram and see six packs and gym rats. We find "perfect" bodies and killer workouts. Influencers pose in their brand new leggings, making the latest pair of lulu lemon's seem a prerequisite for exercise. Over and over again we are presented with this notion that our workouts have to look a certain way and that our exercise routines have to fit a specific mould in order for them to be a "success" or worth our time. But none of this is true. Don’t let the monster of perfectionism sabotage your goals. Don’t fall for this all or nothing nonsense. Movement matters. You don’t have to be a professional athlete to workout. Start with something small, even if that's a five minute walk, and build up from there. Don’t quit what you haven't even started because you think you’ll fail. #perfectionism #tryandtryagain #presentoverperfect #showupimperfectly #tryanyway #justshowup #startsmall #smartgoals #goforawalk #justwalk #exercisemotivation

So many of our patients have experienced traumatic accidents, late stage cancer, chronic disease, the loss of loved ones, and other hardship. Many of them deal with pain stemming from these hard experiences and their lingering physical issues. Even our staff relate to hard physical circumstances and have had their own hardships to wrestle with. We understand how easy it can be to feel beaten down and discouraged by the way our lives have gone and, in that depressed state, lo...se hope that things could ever be better. It's easy for our identity to become wrapped up in and defined by what we've gone through, to think that we are what has happened to us, that there is no point even hoping for a different future. But, and we say to this to ourselves and to you... You are more that what has happened to you. You can hope again. You can try again. Your future can be different. You are not a failure because you have pain and have gone through difficulty. You are worth the effort of getting relief. #youareworthit #youmattertoo #youarenotyourpast #youaremore #youhavevalue #yourfutureisbright #thereishope #thereismore #youareworthit #youdeservebetter #wearehereforyou #tryagain #getbackup #nevergiveup #pastisthepast #pastisnotthefuture #presentnotpast #mentalhealthmatters #overallwellness #painrelief

Happy Thursday everyone! It's almost the weekend We love handy tips & tricks and decided to use Thursday as an excuse to offer you this friendly reminder: Get up & move every 30 minutes! ... If you clocked it, you might be surprised to find out how much time you spend sitting. We sit to work, sit to drive, sit to eat, and sit to relax. All that sitting takes a toll on our health and can even hasten us to an early grave But there's good news! Getting up and moving around every 30 minutes, along with regular exercise, goes a LONG way to dampen the effects of too much sitting So steep away from that computer screen, step away from your desk, reach to the sky, reach for your toes, and take a 5 minute stroll Your body will thank you, I promise. #thursdaytip #thursdaythoughts #thursdaytipsandtricks #almosttheweekend #friendlyreminder #tipsandtricks #healthtips #getupandmove #movementismedicine #movementheals #timeforawalk #timetostretch #breaktime

Our patients make our practice. They trust us with their care, lavish us with their friendship, and inspire us with their dedication to recovery. Without them, we can’t do what we do. Without YOU, we can’t do what we do. We feel overwhelmed and dumbfounded when our patients shower us with gifts, like they have this Christmas. You all have brought us chocolates, cookies, coffee, Christmas ornaments, and plants, like this gorgeous Christmas cactus. This incredible plant only... flowers at Christmas time and was a special gift to us from one of our returning patients. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all of you! #christmasgifts #christmas2020 #blessed #countyourblessings #happyholidays #christmascactus #patientsfirst #patientsatisfaction #wearelucky #joytotheworld
