South County Outreach Food collection -Thank you for filling our barrel. Let’s keep it going and fill it again. The last day for collection is November 13th.
Important Notices: -Turn clocks back 1 hour Saturday night. -Full day children to be picked up by playground/PreK room starting November 2nd. Front lobby glass doors will be locked at 4:30 pm. -Conference week is November 2nd-6th. Check on Brightwheel date/time for parent conference.
GCC celebrated our Fall Festival Event. The children dressed up as their favorite characters and received goodies while Trick or Treating around the decorated tables. Fun was had by all!
Our Fall Trick or Treating Event will take place this Thursday and Friday. We will be blessed with princesses and superheroes. Each class made a festive sign for their table. Please look for pictures of this event on our Facebook page, our website and newsletter.
October character trait is integrity-always tell the truth. Would you take a cookie and not tell the truth? Toddlers in Mrs. I’s class made a plate of chocolate chip cookies with brown paper, paint, and bubble wrap and talked about integrity/ honesty.

Our weekly chapel is back! The good news is Pastor Steve and Pastor Ryan are creating video chapel messages the kids can watch over and over. Go to Genevacc.org, click on video resources, chapel videos. The Bible theme for the year is Character Counts and our special word is Caring.
Teddy Bear Picnic-GCC PreK class read The Teddy Bears’ Picnic, by Jimmy Kennedy and had shared their lunch with their favorite stuffed animal.
COVID-19, Health and Safety-If your child is tested for COVID, before a child can return to school, please provide a negative lab report or a release form from your child’s physician. Continue to pray that GCC is COVID free.

GCC Parents-Brightwheel billing starting September. You will have several options to set up your information. Brightwheel will charge a processing fee of $0.60 per transaction if you use ACH, and 2.9% flat rate per transaction if you use any form of credit or debit card. Even with social distancing children can communicate, have fun, and learn.
Adventures with Harold! GCC children had their picture taken with Flat Harold doing something fun such as gardening, swimming, hiding in a tent, etc. We read several books about Harold such as Harold and the Purple Crayon, and A Picture for Harold’s Room by Crockett Johnson. Some of our art projects included crayon resistance-water color art and a purple collage.
We are excited to have reopened Geneva Children’s Center. We thank you for your understanding and support during the time we had to close GCC due to COVID-19 state concerns. Enrolling now for early fall session starting August 1st. Space is limited. GCC PreK Drive Through Graduation was held on June 19, 2020. We will miss our graduates. Thoughts and prayers are with you as you start kindergarten. Thank you Mrs. Kathy and Mrs. Benson for a wonderful year teaching and loving our students. Thank you to Pastor Steve and Pastor Ryan for handing out Bibles to our graduates.

GCC will reopen on Monday, July 6th for currently enrolled children. A new working model is in place. More information to follow. Health/Safety guidelines will be followed using CDC and licensing regulations.
One of our GCC children from room 2 sent this video to thank Mrs. Lily for sending a card and coloring picture. It made him so happy.
PreK GCC teachers visited their students by a drive by event. They let them know how much they are missed.
Staff Appreciation Week-Geneva Children's Center's Director, the GCC board, and Geneva Presbyterian Church Adm. say thank you to all our GCC staff for the wonderful job they do teaching your children. Even though we are not together during this time (only by Zoom), you are all in our thoughts and prayers and so much appreciated. Continue to stay healthy.

GCC teachers are keeping in touch with their students via Zoom meetings, phone conversations, and dropping by birthday balloons!

Miss Roni is getting married tomorrow, April 18th, in a small ceremony with close family in attendance. The wedding celebration will take place in July! The GCC staff surprised Miss Roni with the wedding bouquet. We wish her much happiness and love!

IMPORTANT NOTICE-GCC PARENTS! Coronavirus, March 13th
GCC children singing at the Presbyterian women’s lunch. They sang a medley of Christian songs: Joy, Joy, Joy, Jesus Loves Me, Jesus Loves the Little Children, I have Decided to Follow Jesus, He’s got the Whole World in his Hands, and When I get to Heaven. The children recited the Bible verse for February: Love one another, John 13:34.
Valentine’s Day celebration! The children enjoyed making a friendship fruit salad and passing out Valentine’s cards. Each class talked about sharing and friendship.
GCC February Community Service Project will be filling JoyJars for the Jessie Rees Foundation. All toys must be new. JoyJars are 6 inches tall with a 4 inch opening. Please bring in your donated items to GCC and we will forward them to The Jessie Rees Foundation. Please review the fliers that went home with the February Newsletter. One contribution that The Jessie Rees Foundation is requesting is a variety of small rubber ducks. Those ducks can be found on www.amazon.com. Oriental Trading Company also has two inch ducks. There is a large blue bucket by the information booth where you can drop off your toy donations. Please bring donations on or before February 29th. Please help us make this a successful project.
The snow run was fantastic!
Eighty degrees and it snowed at Geneva Children’s Center at our First Annual Snow Day on Saturday, February 1st. Children and families enjoyed sled runs, snow play area, bounce houses, sipping hot chocolate, visit from Olaf and crafts provided by Lakeshore. Music was provided for our enjoyment by members of the Geneva Church band.
Pajama and Pancake Day 2! Making pancakes is a lot of fun. We poured, measured, and stirred the pancake batter. We learned the names of cooking tools such as spatula, whisk, measuring cups, and griddle. The children tasted three different pancakes: chocolate chip, banana and original.
