Meet the team part 4! We are thrilled for you to meet more of our wonderful staff! MacKenzie is our Transition Program Resident Guide. Her favorite GH memory was all of our ladies and staff planning a surprise birthday party to celebrate me, and having a dance party in the kitchen. She loves working with the residents and growing with them in their new lives! Pam is our HR Director/Events & Facilities Coordinator. Her favorite memory with GenerateHope is putting on ...the Hope for a Future [virtual event] and being able to be in the presence of survivors while worshipping God and sharing amazing music all for one purpose" Lee is our Lead Resident Guide at the Recovery Program. A GenerateHope resident has been selected as the recipient of the 2021 Live Your Dream Award hosted by the Soroptimist Club. This award will provide her scholarship money to help offset tuition costs, purchase books, get transportation, and cover other basic necessities so she can worry less and focus on pursuing her dreams and furthering her education. Meet more of the people who make GenerateHope successful! Annie is our Executive Director! Her most recent favorite memory is the day we purchased our new Recovery Home in Colorado. I am so excited that we will be able to support more survivors finding freedom from exploitation and healing in Colorado for years to come. Taylor Johnson is our Case Manager! Her favorite memory with GenerateHope was the 2020 Benefit Concert! Worshipping alongside both residents and staf...f as freed and empowered women in awe of the redemptive work of Christ in our lives. Margrett Bishop is our Resident Guide (house mom). She has so many memories from the last 7 years. The last week of 2014 there was an epic snowstorm in So Cal. We had plans to take the women to Ocotillo Wells to ride motorcycles and ATVs. On the way, we stopped at the side of the road to let the women play in the snow and throw some snowballs. One of the women had never seen snow before. It was really fun to see the excitement in her as she got to experience the frozen white stuff for the first time. We love our GenerateHope family! See more

Hard conversations are better than hard lessons. Having conversations with children about internet safety can prevent online exploitation. Swipe through to read some resources we are re-sharing from @sandiegotpc about good questions to ask your kids, red flags to pay attention to, and recommendations for how to practice internet safety.

Do you know the #redflags of online grooming? The pandemic has made it a vulnerable time to be online because predators are using this as an opportunity to entice unsupervised children into producing sexually explicit material. A predator may often develop rapport through compliments, discussing shared interests or liking a child’s online post - also known as grooming. This can lead to sending/sharing inappropriate images, engaging in sexual conversation, and ultimately exploitation. Pay attention: it’s a red flag if your child or teen suddenly becomes involved in a relationship which seems too close with someone they know solely on social media or online.

Practice Internet Safety | As part of Human Trafficking Awareness Month, we think it is imperative to discuss the ways sex trafficking most commonly impacts our youth: via the internet. Online enticement, or 'grooming', is a common way that traffickers will connect with youth, lure them into a relationship, and take advantage of them. We have an exciting update! We are happy to announce that a woman is graduating from our Recovery Program! She has put in a lot of hard work, time, and intentionality into her program and we are so proud of her accomplishments. She will be starting college classes in the coming month.
