Dr. Linda Gromko is seeking funds to help publish more copies of her book, "A Practical Guide for Transgender and Gender Non-Conforming Adults". This book, in addition to being instructive to trans individuals, will be highly useful in the training of health care providers, therapists, and others who sincerely want to help the community but traditionally get no training. Any contribution is appreciated and if you cannot help financially, please share this message!

"Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly. I can never be what I ought to be until you are what you ought to be. This is the interrelated structure of reality." - MLK Jr. The office is closed on Monday to remember and honor Martin Luther King, Jr. His legacy continues to inspire us all and his words remind us to keep pushing towards a better future. We look forward to resuming to normal business on Tuesday, January 19th!

While we have not yet been given a firm date to start rescheduling cases at our hospital, plans are being put in place to safely resume operations as soon as state and local regulations allow. Once we are given the go-ahead to schedule surgeries, we will contact patients with detailed information. Safety of patients, staff, and families continues to be our primary focus. We will also be adding additional surgical days, working extra hard to make up time lost and minimize any future schedule disruptions. We hope that you and your loved ones are well!

Without the immediate allocation of funds, Lyon-Martin Health Services (LMHS) and the Women's Community Clinic (WCC) will relocate and consolidate with their parent organization HealthRight360 (HR360). On May 1, 2020, HR360 will reduce LMHS/WCC clients served by 90%, lay off the majority of their staff, and relocate the one remaining medical provider to their Integrated Care Center. The provider will be available 8 hours/week in an environment in which little to no queer and ...trans competency training has occurred. This will leave thousands of sexual and gender minorities without their primary care home in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. There is less than a month to raise enough support and funding for LMHS/WCC to continue providing services at current capacity in their dedicated, independent safe space. **Ways you can help** 1) Sign on to petition letter as an organization and/or individual to support the ask to the City to invest in the survival of these historical clinics and the communities they serve. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/2HY982M 2) Contribute to or share the GoFundMe campaign. https://www.gofundme.com/f/save-lyonmartin-amp-womens-commu 3) Call the Mayor Breed's office at (415) 554-5977 and put pressure on her to meet with LMHC/WCC and commit to their survival. 4) Share your story. Send a written letter or video testimony about the impact these clinics have had on you or your community to [email protected]. 5) Follow @savelyonmartin on Instagram for updates. 6) Organize a fundraiser!

To our friends, patients, and their families-- We wish all of you safety and comfort during these challenging times. While it is quite possible that the Coronavirus pandemic will quiet, we are following recommendations/regulations to perform no elective surgery until at least April 30, 2020. So far this does not affect outpatient surgeries, but that may change. This will affect mainly inpatient April patients is quite disappointing to all of us. That said, we expect that all ...patients will be worked into our regular patient schedule once the medical climate is safer for all. We are hopeful to be back on our original schedule within 3-4 months of this crisis. In the meantime, enjoy those precious moments of peace with those you love. Kindly, Marci Bowers, MD

We continue to monitor the impact of the COVID-19/Coronavirus. We will inform patients of any schedule changes as quickly as possible. In the meantime, take good care of yourselves and each other.

Dr. Marci Bowers 02.07.2020

We are concerned with COVID-19/Coronavirus and its effect on staff, family, and patients. The situation is shifting on an almost daily basis and we continue to monitor. At present, surgeries have continued without interruption. Mills-Peninsula Hospital is extremely proactive and has had no positive COVID-19 patients to date while operations appear guarded but routine. Should any changes arise, patients will be alerted as quickly as possible.
