Christina Seely’s project terra systema is a series of large-scale photographic works which are made up from two layered prints which create an awareness of motion of the rainforest and water melt from areas where she is witness to the effects of climate change. The photographs are made using long exposures. One set of images, respiro (breath) depict the living respiratory system of the rainforest belt. In the set of flumen (current) images the artist explores the kinetic life of melt water from the Greenland ice sheet, where she travelled over the course of two summers with a group of scientists.
