"As a garment worker, I work more than eight hours a day and make $250 a week," said Patricia Limeta. https://www.abc10.com//509-abc46cbd-b0f6-40ce-a610-5ad0a77
"Patricia Limeta explicó que tiene 20 años laborando en la costura, que debe trabajar más de ocho horas al día y más de 50 horas a la semana, y sin embargo 'nuestro sueldo sigue siendo por pieza y ganamos menos que el salario mínimo por hora.' 'Esta es una industria que gana millones pero a nosotras nos pagan una miseria', reclamó la costurera latina." https://rotativo.com.mx//latinas-deben-trabajar-22-meses-/

It was an honor to join my colleagues from the California Latino Legislative Caucus to launch the Unseen Latina initiative to combat wage and representation d...isparities in CA. Thank you Patricia from the Garment Worker Center for sharing your story and the need to improve pay and working conditions for garment workers. The real work begins!
Today Patricia, Garment Worker Center member, joined First Partner Jennifer Siebel Newsom Office of Lorena Gonzalez, Senator María Elena Durazo & Speaker Anthony Rendon to share her experience of being paid by piece rate versus making minimum wage for #LatinaEqualPayDay to launch the #UnseenLatinas initiative. Garment workers experience wage theft everyday and make about $250-350 a week for 50 hour work weeks. Latinas in California suffer from the country’s worst #WageGapearning just 42 cents on the dollar that a white, non-Hispanic man earns, regardless of experience or job type. #UnseenLatinas California Latino Legislative Caucus@CALatinoCaucus
