Beautiful and thought provoking art is one of life’s pleasures. So I must say I’m thrilled at the tremendous number of first time visitors to Desert Hot Springs coming out to see the Desert X art installation here. I’m going to guess at least 700 visitors today, maybe more. People from all over the valley and the world came today and will continue to come for the next two months. The exposure to what makes this town great will pay dividends now and into the future as people see what a great city we have. Make sure you visit too. Details on all the Desert X pieces in the valley are at www.desertx.org. Thanks to the organizers for once again putting one of the best in our city. #desertx

As we start to see the light at the end of the tunnel in this pandemic, it’s nice to see our local boutique spas enjoying serving guests again. I want to give a shout out to Bruce Abney owner of El Morocco here in town. I’m wonderful to see how proactive they are in keeping guests safe, as highlighted in the morning’s Desert Sun. Bruce and his team are a great example of how to be both safe and serve customers. https://palmspringsdesertsun-ca-app.newsmemory.com/

I know it’s short notice, but Desert AIDS Project, now known as DAP Healthcare, is bringing their outreach van back to Desert Hot Springs TOMORROW morning, Wednesday, the 3rd, from 7am to 11am to the Royal Emerald parking lot on Palm Drive. They will be offering $10 Starbucks cards for the first 15 people who register and take home a free HIV self-test kit. They won’t be doing onsite testing this week, but giving out home self test kits. Many thanks to Royal Emerald, DAP Health Care and Diversity DHS for arranging this.
