On October, 15 2020, Gaines & Stacey LLP Managing Partner Fred Gaines was a guest lecturer at the California State University Northridge Department of Urban Studies and Planning. Fred spoke to students in their Planning Law class about issues of zoning, eminent domain and takings.

In August, Gaines & Stacey LLP client Mobile Park Investments, Inc. won approval from the California Coastal Commission for a new three unit residential project on the Grand Canal in Venice. Managing Partner Fred Gaines made the presentation to the Commission virtually over Zoom.

In January, Gaines & Stacey LLP client Thomas Safran & Associates received final approval from the Los Angeles City Council for a new 127 unit, 100% affordable, multi-family project in Southeast Los Angeles. Fred Gaines and Kim Rible represented our client throughout the land use entitlement and CEQA approval process.
