German Children’s Books and Pretzels! Club members, we know you are missing Oktoberfest! We are too and are hoping to make up for it with a Maifest in the spring. In the meantime, to commemorate the founding of the original Oktoberfest the 17th of Oktober 1810 on Saturday the 17th, we’ll be celebrating the opening of the Kleine Kinderbibliothek (Small Children’s Library) in the club parking lot from 10am to noon. We’ve collected over 400 children’s books and media for c...heckout and will also have a German book swap with over 200 books for adults. Thank you Dennis Reader for preparing those books! Volunteers are welcome! Who wants to help with baking pretzels, setting up, or putting things away? Do have any books or German children's games, DVDs, etc to donate? Send a private message to Jasmin Gerer on her facebook page if you want to get involved. Also, please share this news with German speaking families and RSVP for pretzels if you can by on the day of our opening! See more

Wishing we could be in Bavaria or having a beer together at the German American Club! Hang in there! Hopefully we'll be able to meet again soon, perhaps outside in the parking lot, to share a drink and conversation.
