"...compared to 72% of men." Sounds to me like everyone needs a little help. Thankfully, "Unlike men, who are notoriously reluctant to ask for directions when lost, many women know what they don’t know, and the survey found that more women are willing to seek help creating a financial road map." I'm hosting a webinar a few weeks from now called Women's Retirement Roadmap. Whenever I hear my kids arguing or getting upset, I do my best to tell them to relax. In the evenings, though, it's my wife that tries to wind down, typically with a cup of fragrant tea. If you've ever wondered what the difference is between dirty water and amazing tea, here's a perfect article for you. And relax, 2020 is over! #financialplannerventura #financialadvisorventura #retirementplanningventura #financialplanningventura #pension #401k #401kadvisorventura #investmentadvisorventura #investmentplanningventura #wealthmanagementventura #financialadviceventura #moneymanagementventura

This is an article that I almost wholly disagree with. If your advisor preaches fear, literally SELLS with it, you may want a second opinion. While each of the pieces the author notes has a thread of truth, expanding those in a way that would make someone fear the market concerns me. Last, having an MBA doesn't make you a good advisor. Teaching clients about risk, providing perspective and building sound financial plans does. #financialplannerventura #financialadvisorventura #retirementplanningventura #financialplanningventura #pension #401k #401kadvisorventura #investmentadvisorventura #investmentplanningventura #wealthmanagementventura #financialadviceventura #moneymanagementventura

With Christmas vacations coming up, kids at home, and family gatherings coming up, albeit smaller than usual, it's time for some recipes! Do any of you have a holiday favorite you'd like to share? With a lot of Jewish friends I thought I'd share a latke recipe I came across. I'll share more this week if you want your COVID belly to really pop this Christmas! #financialplannerventura #financialadvisorventura #retirementplanningventura #financialplanningventura #pension #401k #401kadvisorventura #investmentadvisorventura #investmentplanningventura #wealthmanagementventura #financialadviceventura #moneymanagementventura
With Trump's tax returns in the news, I thought a brief article on tax avoidance vs. tax evasion was appropriate. Do you write things off to reduce your taxes, too?
It's a little overcast today and my little ones are under the weather. I thought a quick recipe for tonight was appropriate. This is a great one, but I typically add a little spice to mine to clear out the sinuses a bit. Just make sure you do that after serving the kids!

It always seems like a tragedy when you change your habits, especially in regard to food. I'm a carb-loading, sugar loving man, but this month I've made some positive strides towards a healthier body. This recipe sounds ridiculous (cabbage?!?) but it was, hands down, amazing. Even my wife said so! And the parents. And neighbors. Try it out!

I tend to look at the bright side of things in our world, introducing thought and logical thinking rather than panic buying/selling and quick reactions. And while the market and economy ARE doing better than you're made to believe, we still have a ways to go: "We don't think we get back to the level of real GDP we saw in late 2019 until late 2021. And that's really not a full recovery because, in the absence of COVID-19, the economy would have grown 2% or more, per year, in the interim. If we define a "full recovery" as getting back to an unemployment rate at or below 4.0%, we'll probably have to wait until 2023. " Click the link for the full article!
I found this blog by Ryan Holiday, author of The Obstacle is the Way, to be inspiring in this day and age. Here's a quote to get things started: "That’s an idea I’ve loved from Seneca. He points out that taxes are not just levied on income. They are just the financial form. There are many forms of taxes in life. You can argue with them, you can go to greatbut ultimately futilelengths to evade them, or you can simply pay them and enjoy the fruits of what you get to keep."
The attached pdf is especially important for those of you that enjoy investing through Robinhood, TD Ameritrade, etc. Sound investment advice, strategies for trading and more. Click the link to download it or ask me for a copy! "I am writing as a professional investor, one who has enjoyed a certain degree of success as an investment counselor over the past half-centuryand who wishes to share with others the lessons learned during this time." Have you ever found yourself thinking about food and looking up recipes? Here's one I came across that almost looks healthy! What are some of your favorites?
Things to remember so that you don't go INSANE being at home all day.
Interesting piece that correlates highly to our perception of market risk, shark attack risk, etc. "1. On average, Americans believe that people aged 55 and older account for just over half of total COVID-19 deaths; the actual figure is 92%. 2. Americans believe that people aged 44 and younger account for about 30% of total deaths; the actual figure is 2.7%.... 3. Americans overestimate the risk of death from COVID-19 for people aged 24 and younger by a factor of 50; and they think the risk for people aged 65 and older is half of what it actually is (40% vs 80%)."
