Description of Role: Ideal person must be capable of operating single needle machines. Fabricate and assemble production quantities of simple components under normal supervision.... Fabricate specialized paramilitary garments and accessories using production sewing equipment. Prepare raw material/fabric for production processing using patterns/templates, drawings, and production cutting equipment. Assemble various types of Aviation on Life Support Equipment (ALSE) using standard and specialty hand tools, power tools, or production equipment. Requirements: Must be able to operate a single needle sewing machine. Preferred Skills: Maintain even stitch, tension, alignment and distribution of materials. Observes stitching to detect defects and notify appropriate personnel when defects are caused by machine malfunction. Basic mechanical and measurement skills Basic Sewing machine maintenance and setup skills Qualifications: Thread machine and change needles Operate a power driven sewing machine Will be working from patterns or with precut pieces of materials. Must know how to operate a sewing machine to sew, join, hem, gather, reinforce, or decorate various articles. Must be able to lift 25 lbs. High School Diploma or equivalent Vocational training preferred, but not required Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
