Words from our president today at our Live Your Dream Luncheon: So honored to preside over our annual "Soroptimist Awards and Grants Luncheon". This is always one of our very favorite meetings of the year- the meeting where we get to hand out the money that we raised through the year to our "Live your Dream" scholarship winners and the Non-Profit Community grant winners. This is Khloe of Khloe Kares (my personal little gem of a find) and we were able to grant her money so th...at she can help teach girls her age to become leaders in their communities. (Check her out on her own Facebook Page.) She, along with WTLC, St. Jude Memorial Foundation, Pathways of Hope, and our girl empowerment programs at Maple, Raymond and Ladera Vista Schools, all received grant funds to further their programs for the betterment of our communities. We awarded scholarships to 3 very deserving women today. Their stories and words had us shedding a tear or two. We are so very proud of them! So happy to be able to help these women further their education. I can't tell you how important this luncheon is to us and those involved. Thanks you to all my Soroptimist sisters who worked so hard to raise the money and to all involved in making today such a great success.
