If you didn't already know, our own Lamar and Sarah Bontrager are launching a new space for the thrift store they've been spear-heading with others in our community! It's called "Revival Boutique & Thrift" and they have a heart to fuel kingdom ministry + impact through this amazing local business! Check out ways we can all tangibly be a support and please contact them if interested in anything below!! Update From Lamar: I wanted to give yo...u a little update on Revival Boutique & Thrift. We are so excited about the great space that God has provided and wanted to share some ways that people can jump in and help get the store open for business!! Improvements are being made to the building and we are planning on being able to open the doors for business by September 1st! There are a few things that we are in need of ASAP and we won’t be able to get it done without some help!! A framer, drywaller, and plumber are the most urgent at the moment and we would love to find some volunteers, if possible, to help keep the rehab cost down! Another way people can help out is by donating items that we still need to purchase for the store or by funding certain areas of the rehab! Here is a list of ways to help make a difference in our community through Revival Boutique & Thrift! Sponsor a portion of the rehab: -repaint exterior - $4000 -build wall for processing center - $3200 -checkout station- $1000 -shelving & clothing racks $2500 -interior paint - $500 -double glass door to parking lot - $3500 -POS System - $1500 -electrical upgrades - $500 -exterior store signs - $2500 Purchase & Donate an item for the store: -computer -printer -laminator -label maker -safe -shopping carts -shopping baskets -hangers -shopping bags -open/close sign -employ lockers -cleaning supplies -small toolbox w/ tools -commercial floor mop & bucket - dust mop Any assistance on these items would be such a huge blessing for the store! Our Vision Series started last week with a call for a new frontier of discipleship towards "Emotional Health"... This week we started with a call to LAUGH. We cannot break heaviness without laughter... do our spiritual lives position us to receive the joy of God when we need it most?... We then looked at being a people that can hold "Truth in Tension"... Bill Jackson calls this "Radical Middle" the perfect balance of biblical truths in tension... Pursuing this will produce a different kind of disciple. This is dangerous + difficult! But this will change us, our city (maybe our politics) and it will certainly disciple us into a kind of people that will stand out!
