Sadly, the Swings+ More were not quite ready last week, we hope that all will be approved for opening in early January. Stay tuned to the Frog Park website for details.

It's going to be another awesome FROG Park Earth Day Clean Up Saturday April 20 9-12! Bring your family and friends and help us maintain this neighborhood gem.

Heads up that the water in Temescal Creek that runs through Frog Park will likely be shut off for a while due to the toxic algae bloom at Lake Temescal where some of the water is sourced. And whenever the water is there please heed the warning signs regarding water quality. Stay cool!

What a wonderful turnout on Earth Day for the Frog Park and Temescal Creek clean-ups! Thank you to everyone who came by to help: lots of families with young children, Cub Scout Pack 274 (pictured), Holy Names University volunteers, the Rockridge Little School and many others. It was truly beautiful to see so many people out taking care of our park. Thanks to Bakesale Betty for the donation of delicious apricot scones and to Peets for the coffee, and to the anonymous donors wh...o brought a huge box of pasties to keep our many volunteers fueled. Special thanks to Howard Ferrier (pictured), FROG's volunteer maintenance coordinator who has done an incredible job for 10 years and will be stepping down after the fall maintenance day. And also to local high schooler Tylen Lee (also pictured), who has been volunteering wiht Frog Park since he was 8 years old. Unfortunately, when the creek was turned on, there was a bit of a flood due to a blockage in the culvert. City staff are working on removing the blockage, and once that is done (very soon we hope) the creek will be back on.

Some photos from the Frog Park Earth Day cleanup this morning. Beautiful day for it and tons of volunteers -- moms and dads with their kids, a girl scout troop, a group from Holy Names University and more -- helping to keep this neighborhood treasure clean and safe.

This Saturday is Earth Day, and we could use a few more hands to help clean up Frog Park 9am-12pm. It's a great opportunity to get the kids involved with giving back to the community. We LOVE this weather -- and the fact that our rainy weather last month made everything so green! Looks like the perfect Valentine's Day to grab some flowers at the Temescal Farmer's Market and hang out at Frog Park!

We definitely agree with Oakland Momma about shopping local this holiday season -- especially hitting up Baby World and Ruby's Garden Kidwear & Gift and swinging by Frog Park while you're in the Temescal/Rockridge area!

Note that the Frog Park play structure will be closed this Wednesday, October 14th so we can clean and seal it (thanks to the College Prep students who will be doing the lion's share of work).

We've gotten several inquiries recently about the creek at Frog Park. The water is usually flowing April through September, though at times it is shut off by the City due to water quality issues (i.e. algae concerns). That's the case right now, and we'll try to keep this page updated so you know whether your kids can splash around in advance of heading over!
