A favorite for a favorite! I’ve always vibed with this special couple. When we designed flowers for their wedding 4 (!!!!!) years ago, the way I recall it is, we never actually met them til after their wedding, or if we did, it was quick. Is that right S&B? Anyway, they had a beautiful vision and completely trusted us to run with their bohemian/forest faerie/elegant vibe, and boy was it a blast!!!! I’ve since communicated with them many, many more times in person, and it tur...ns out, we vibe on a bunch! Style, plants, clothes, food, animals, decor....To this day, their wedding in our gallery is the one most posted to Pinterest - the details they incorporated - feathers, a wooly rug, a lavender tinted wedding dress, jewel toned bridesmaid dresses, tweed vests.....the list is endless - all under a canopy of giant trees! Really, it was perfect. Well now, when I get to design for them, it’s always so fun! I get to use the most fun, gardeny, unexpected, natural, wild, blooms! Thank you, S&B, for continuing to spread your good vibes and fantastic style, so I can continue to be inspired. A year ago today, #frostfarms, my flower inspiration, my intro to cool and unusual things, my emotional support- my dad - passed from Covid. A few weeks later, my small family gathered to celebrate Easter. It wasn’t really a celebration. This year, Easter came early. The universe has a funny way of doing things. This year, Easter weekend was on the date of his passing. Every year for Easter, my dad would give me a package of Peeps - those neon colored, sugar coated marshmal...lows, shaped like bunnies or chicks. When he gave them to me, inevitably the package would be opened, and one Peep would be missing on arrival. It always made me laugh. Today I thought of him and that missing Peep - on the date he left this earth a year ago. Today, our package is incomplete - but it actually made me laugh even through tears. I kept busy today. A florist making flowers for Easter brunches, all day long. I believe the universe planned this. It kept me busy and positive, and focused on designing beautiful things. Souls live on, outside the bodies that have left this Earth, and they encourage those they love to keep going. I feel the push to keep going. I got my first dose of the vaccine 2 days ago, 2 days shy of the 1st anniversary of my dad’s death from Covid. But with this vaccine, I will continue to be responsible, wearing a mask, and continuing to social distance, despite what some people think is necessary, including some of my very own family, which is disappointing after all that has happened. We’ll all keep doing our thing based on our direct experiences, and our relationships will move forward accordingly based on our thoughts and actions from those experiences. That’s just life.
