The Sonoma County Bowmen maintain the archery course at Lake Sonoma. They report that usage is up tremendously over the last year since COVID-19 arrived. One of their members, Burrell Wyle, sits on our board of directors. Here’s a short video they prepared showing some of their activities.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Lake Sonoma has opened all day use areas to the public! Day use areas include Yorty Creek and the Warm Springs Recreation Area, which includes access to the disc golf course and dog park. Shelters are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and users are encouraged to recreate responsibly by not organizing gatherings larger than CDC, state or county recommendations and by following social-distancing guidance. Due to the lake’s low ...water level, the launch ramp at Yorty Creek will remain closed and dry throughout the 2021 recreation season, but the public boat launch ramp remains open. Boaters are urged to use caution while boating at Lake Sonoma with conditions changing daily as the water level recedes throughout the dry season. For more information, you can call the Lake Sonoma Visitor Center at 707-431-4533. See more

Historically, rainbow and steelhead trout are native to North America, west of the Great Rocky Mountains. This fellow caught a beautiful rainbow trout. Not sure who he is, but he's a Giants fan, so he must be okay:-)
