DACA NEWS Our office will prepare DACA Renewals for $80 plus $495 filing fee. Please call our office for an appointment. USCIS continues to not accept new applications for DACA. However, they continue to accept renewals. The renewal period for DACA applications is now ONE year. If you wish to renew your deferred action, you must submit your application 150 days prior to the expiration of your work permit with the filing fees. ... If your previous period of deferred action expires before you receive a renewal of deferred action under DACA, you will accrue unlawful presence and will not be authorized to work for any time between the periods of deferred action. For this reason, Immigration Services USCIS encourages you to submit your request for renewal 150 days before your current period of deferred action under DACA expires.

What YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT THE USCIS Budget Crisis In May, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) notified Congress that the agency predicted a budget shortfall and that if it did not receive a $1.2 billion bailout it would furlough 13,000-plus people (nearly 70 percent of its workforce). Then, a congressional inquiry revealed a USCIS surplus for the fiscal year. USCIS ultimately canceled the scheduled furlough, but advised thatdespite the fact that the furlough ...will not happen nowthe agency will still institute aggressive spending reduction measures, which will result in increased processing times. Therefore, as we’ve indicated in past newsletters please expect the following: 1. Increased processing time for all types of cases 2. Delays in receiving receipt notices, appointment notices, and other notice types from USCIS Lockboxes and Service Centers Increased wait time for pending case inquiries with the USCIS Contact Center 3. Increased adjudication time for adjustment of status and naturalization case
