FCWL 2021 Philanthropy! Fresno County Women Lawyers is proud to announce that it has selected Reading & Beyond as its 2021 philanthropy of the year. Reading and Beyond was founded in 1999 by Luis Santana with a fierce belief shaped by his work with street kids in Brazil and Colombia; that a child's path toward a brighter future was paved with books. Reading and Beyond provides services to build foundations for children and families in the impoverished Fresno neighborhoods and... surrounding counties. Our mission is to reduce the number of families who need to access the safety net because they have found self-reliance pathways. Reading and Beyond current programs include preschool facilities, K-12 afterschool programming; COVID-19 education and support; Food and Housing assistance; and employment and training through our program California Bridge Academies (CBA).
