These 1st generation American’s born to Italian immigrants, raised on the West Side of Fresno, on the 1000 block of A street. Lived next door to each other. Were lifelong best friends. John Alfano served in the Navy. Pasquale Pat DeLiddo served in the Army. They were World War II heroes. When they returned home from the war, they married the Nunes sisters, their childhood sweethearts who lived on C st. On this Memorial Day, and every day, thank a Veteran.
