Meet Miss Talia, one of our Piano and Voice Teachers :) Ms. Talia has been studying piano since age 7. As her love for music grew, she realized that she was destined to walk down the path of a musician. During her piano studies, she fell in love with voice while listening to her classmates and decided to try out voice also. In a few short years, she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Vocal Performance from Tianjin Conservatory in China! ... Talia’s drive to obtain anything she has a desire to do will definitely be imparted to the students she teaches. She will teach them that limits are nonexistent! Miss Talia will always create an encouraging environment where students feel empowered and competent to do all they dream of doing! She has extensive training and education in both instruments: Piano and Voice, as well Music Education, itself. Her passion is to introduce the joys of music to students of all ages. Meet Miss Keika, one of our newest piano teachers! When Keika was 7 she began studying with a teacher who was strict but still made lessons fun and exciting. The balance in her teacher’s teaching style fueled her curiosity in music, led her to improve exponentially, and created a strong and lasting relationship. ... Miss Keika has extensive experience and education in piano and has a passion to become an effective, understanding, and inspirational teacher who can share the beauty of music and the arts, to enrich students’ lives. She believes that studying music not only teaches students how to play an instrument, but also teaches important life skills that students can use for the rest of their lives. She believes that whether students choose to do music professionally or not, music will teach them discipline, patience, and critical thinking. Music should be taken seriously in everyone’s education since it is what makes an individual complete and wholesome. Meet Ms Shelby, one of our newest Piano teachers! Miss Shelby started her piano journey at age 4 and loved it from the beginning. She was drawn to music making in ways that’s hard for her to explain! Other activities came into her life but piano for her, always stayed constant. Shelby’s outstanding experience and credentials speak for themselves! She has been committed to the craft of piano playing and continue to share her gift around the world! ... Shelby wants to help students develop a love for music and playing the piano. Knowing that everyone learns differently, she is committed to getting to know her students and figuring out the method that works best for them! By learning music, I developed patience, diligence, confidence, and other skills that still serve me today. CERTIFICATE OF MERIT SUCCESS! OUR FRESHSTART MUSIC STUDIO IS GOING 5 YEARS STRONG AND WE’VE NOTICED AN INCREASE IN STUDENTS TAKING CM EACH YEAR WITH GREAT SUCCESS. 23 of our students took the Certificate of Merit exam!... 17 received State Honors - this means that these students memorized all exam pieces, scored "Good or Excellent" or higher in all categories, and scored 80% or higher on theory exams. 5 received the Branch Honors - which was for Level 5 and higher students only, they obtained the highest rating on the piece they've selected. Major congratulations to our hard-working students and a big thank you to our FreshStart parents who supply endless support. And we definitely can’t forget our Musicianship and Private Lesson Teachers! They play a vital role in helping our students reach higher. Congrats: Christian Hong, Elsa Ding, + Justin Vovan!
