The life cycle continues! The changing of the seasons brings the beauty of transitional colors. Seas of green transform into rolling hills of gold and red. It is fleeting, but it is worth the view.

Vineyards and olive groves: a tale as old as time. You may have noticed that olive trees and grape vines are often planted next to each other. There are a few reasons that this has become tradition. Olive trees provide shelter for grape vines, thrive in a similar climate, and have complementary harvest seasons. Olive oil and wine have made the perfect pair for centuries!

Morning greetings from this lovely flock of quail enjoying the property. Our Freeman team is safe and well, and the colors are beginning to shift into autumn. A cool, foggy morning was a welcoming start to the day.

Sometimes you just have to stop what you’re doing and take a walk under the redwoods. These gentle giants are young for their species. The average redwood tree lives to be between 500 and 800 years old!

Here at Freeman, we are testing thoroughly and dedicating special care to the fruit that goes into the handcrafted wines which boast our label. It is of utmost importance that the quality of our wines is protected. You can trust that we are going to hold our wine to the highest of standards and deliver a product that we know and love. All is not lost! Our tasting room is open, the tanks are full of grapes, and the yeast must ferment on. This Sonoma Coast vineyard is a testament to the Freemans’ passion for finding an exceptional site and mastering the challenges that come with it. The Yu-ki Vineyard is situated just five miles from the Pacific Ocean, at an elevation of 1,000 feet. The terrain is steep and rugged, and the climate is cold and windy. The extreme weather in this location results in very low yields of just 1 to 2 tons per acre. Along with being the name of Akiko’s nephew, Yu-ki fittingly translates to big tree.
