The Free Farm Stand will be open as usual this Easter Sunday April 4th from noon-1pm
Hi everyone, The Free Farm Stand will be closed for the next two Sundays (December 27th and January 3rd) and will reopen January 10, 2021. I hope everyone has a happy holiday season and good health and happiness in the New Year!
Hello everyone, We will be open tomorrow March 14, 2020. We're adding additional measures to help better protect you and neighbors from the corona virus and at the same time provide a needed service. Please note all of the new items below.... FOR VOLUNTEERS 1. When you arrive at the park, wash your hands in the bathroom. Wash for 20 seconds -- the time it takes to sing the happy birthday song twice. 2. Put on gloves. 3. Don't touch your face or people's hands. If you do, change gloves. 4. Neighbors and volunteers will not be allowed to use their own bags. We bought new bags and we will keep in control of them. The first volunteer will hold a new bag and place vegetables in it after consulting with a neighbor and then the volunteer will pass the bag to the next volunteer. Neighbors will not hold the bags. The last volunteer in line will place the filled bag down by the neighbor and the neighbor will pick it up. 5. We will not let neighbors too close to the vegetables. Volunteers will stand on the same side as the neighbors in order to more naturally keep folks at a distance. We will ask neighbors to not stand too near the volunteers either. 6. We will keep a good distance between the neighbors as they go through the line. 7. We will be getting a lot more vegetables from the Ferry Building Farmer's Market so we will not be going to Stonestown. There is no so-called "2nd round." FOR NEIGHBORS (we will let all neighbors know) 1. Wash your hands before going through the line. 2. Let someone know if you're sick. We will have a volunteer go through the line for you and ask you to take a seat. 3. No one is allowed to use their own bags. We have new bags that we will provide for you. Volunteers will hold the bag until the very end of the tables and then will place it down in front of you.
Dear Friends I am sorry to announce that the Free Farm Stand will be closed tomorrow Sept. 13, 2020 because of the unhealthy air quality. Also, I want to apologize for not keeping in touch with this Facebook page and now I see many messages I never answered. We can obviously use help on this end keeping our Facebook page up to date. The Free Farm Stand will remains open for now. We are simplifying our distribution of free local, organic produce and bread and will be pre-bagging everything and giving out the bags starting at noon...no numbers. Just come to the Treat Ave side of the park and stand 6ft apart and get a bag or two if you can use it. We are grateful for all those who make this possible, friends, volunteers, farmers, Recreation and Park, Food Runners, everyone! If you want to help please contact me.
Correction we will be open Sunday March 15, 2020
