Another seasoned member is graduating. Joseph has been on the build/manufacturing team for the past 3 years. His attention to details and willingness to pitch in has be invaluable over the past few seasons. Joseph will be matriculating to Cal Poly Pomona in the mechanical engineering program. The excitement in the pits at competition is what he will miss the most. Anderson has experienced 4 years on the team and steadily moved up the ranks. He was in manufacturing for the first 2 years, then became VP and finally voted in as President for his final season. According to Anderson himself, his favorite memories is when rebuilt the entire climb mechanism in the pits at LA regionals within a 2 or 3 hour window. Of course "I will miss opening team meetings and helping everyone through each day" throughout the course of the year. He will be ...attending Carnegie Mellon University to major in mechanical engineering and "potentially a minor in some other field". Congratulations Anderson! Takato, has been with the design and CAD group for the last 3 seasons. As the Design Lead this season, he was instrumental in helping distill all the different ideas into a working concept that could be manufactured, built into a working competition robot. He says that he will really miss all the days and evenings spent with the team, toiling away to get all the subsystems to work as a single functional system. He will be starting in the mechanical engineering program at Waseda University in Japan. Good Luck Takato! Sara has been a member of the team since her Freshman year. She has been electronics lead and worked on vision subsystem. In the Fall, Sara will be heading to Carnegie Mellon University as an Electrical and Computer Engineer major. Favorite memories are: Baking for the team, cheering at competitions, teaching electronics to new members, and learning from great mentors. Tim is another 4 year veteran of the Phantom Catz. since his freshmen year Tim has worked on the controls/software sub team. He will miss the endless hours of struggling with teammates to get vision working reliably on all the robots. We truly appreciate the contributions you've made over the past few seasons. Ian is the lead of the manufacturing sub team. One of hardest working members of our team, putting in many late evenings ensuring the robot is completed in time for competition. All 4 years he has been an integral member of the build/manufacturing sub team and became sub team lead this school year. When asked what he will miss most after graduation, he states that he will miss the camaraderie of the team members and the night build sessions during week 6. We will surely miss him when he matriculates to Purdue University to study mechanical engineering. Ethan is another of our graduating senior. Joining the team his freshman year and immediately found the manufacturing group to where he focused his interest. Always cool, calm and collected whether in the lab or during the heat of competition making repairs in the pit; because of this he was promoted to competition Pit Captain this season. Additionally Ethan mentors the FLL team at our local middle school. He will miss the intense build season, the post meeting adventures and ramen runs. Congratulations Ethan! Erin joined the Phantom Catz in her sophomore year and immediately made a tremendous impact as team secretary and a key member of business operations. She helped instituted regular newsletters to sponsors, friends and families of the team to great effect. This fostered a much closer environment of family for everyone. She recalls her best memories with 2637 are the early morning Kick Off meetings, all the close friendships she has made with team members and winning the 2019 A...erospace Valley Regional. Erin says I will miss the sense of family I have here and the excitement and adrenaline high from competition. The team will miss you too! Derek joined the Phantom Catz his freshmen year and found great interest in the software sub team helping develop code for the robots. After gaining familiarity with the systems, he also became an integral part of the drive team shaking down the robots during development. He is the current Programming and Controls Lead as well as Lead Driver. Derek will be off to Carnegie Mellon University to pursue a degree in Computer Science. He says he will really miss the fun times and thrill of driving the robot at competitions. Good Luck Derek!
