Running just a tad behind schedule

I didn't kno the story behind this transport to kno to get a picture of the guys face when I unloaded his car. Turns out he had seen the car on the internet, came up to Sac to buy it. While on the test drive the right front tire blew out and ripped the fender and running board off the car. He loved the car and ended up buying it any ways. But that had been 4 months earlier. He'd forgotten how much he had fallen in love with it until he sat in side of it again. His face just l...it up ( even brighter then it already was considering it was over a 100 degrees at 10 A M in Fresno already ), he even offered to buy me lunch !!!!! That's the part of this business I miss so much ! Driving transport just doesn't give you the satisfaction you get from driving tow truck. I miss the smiles and thank you's you get when you offer a bottle of water to some one whose been stranded on the side of the road during rush hour on a 100 degree day, the show of relief when you pick up some ones car out of a dark parking lot at midnite, the hand shake you receive from a friend after you've rescued their son or daughter after an accident. I trurely don't think I've enjoyed going to work more then I did that first year I got into the towing business, just me my first truck and being the bright spot in some ones day at the worst time of their day. Having the 36" LCD Flat panel with DVD player and surround sound along with the apt. size fridge (which just happen to be sitting in a corner of my garage ) hard wired in to the 8000 WATT inverter installed by my (very good and quite handy with such things ) friend Randy along with the Sony deck, 10 disc changer, Fosgate amps and speakers in that same corner, (" that breakfast thing paying off again"). Last night pouring rain and cold. Today, winds blowing so hard can't getter over 45mph. Oh, yea and it's still just as cold. Shitty part, this time I gotta deli...ver all the way into "the city". Then San Jo. But after that I'm like a barn shy horse, ears pinned back, balls out for the barn. For you city folk a "barn shy" horse is a horse not accustomed to being away from the barn. Gets spooked when it gets too far from the barn. You'll be riding along and all of a sudden the horse will make a U-turn and haul ass at top speed back to the barn. Usually leaving you still sitting on your ass where you landed from the sudden U-turn. See more

Austin's bike wouldn't start. Had to call a tow truck for a jump. Girl showed up in this good looking rig. She got here in less then 15 mins. She was very curtious and friendly. Really recommend this tow company !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was bombing across Palm Springs, west bound on the 10. Headed to Riverside to reload. Had the hammer down and rolling on. I had just blown past the scale hous...e in Banning ( a felony in Ca for a trucker to not stop at a Open Scale house ) because I ran outta hours about 8 hours ago. I'd be home free if I could just make it to the 60. Looked in my rear view to see if any one was coming on strong. Instead I have this bright eye ball looking back at me. It's about half way up, starting to peek over the mountain. It was so bright, so big, it called to me. Cut across 3 lanes to catch the last exit before the 60. Only thing that kept me off the K wall was the cloud of smoke coming off the tires from getting on the binders maybe too heavy. Hook the 180 degree turn which put me going East on the frontage road. I dont kno if it was the color of the moon or that I was just rummy from driving. But that moon brought back a memory from a million years ago. . . . . I had been planning this night for weeks!!!! Was taking my girl to a very early dinner at Cattlemens on this nippy April Saturday night. It was getting close to time so I had to rush her thru the end of dinner. Jump in the truck and head up the hill. Look over and shes being quiet during my speeding up the hill. Whats the matter I ask. Are you scared ? " Wasn't till you asked." She said. I replied " Doubt you'll encounter anything scarier then who your already with." Sly Park exit. Then a left past the park onto Emigrant Pass. About 7 or 8 miles up the road, past all the logging and sight seeing trails and side roads is a clearing. A valley between the mountain ranges. If you look down the road theres a curve and then the road looks like it goes straight up and over the mountains. I pull over and open her door. Look on her face? Priceless! Mix of curiosity and fear. This is my surprise?? She asks. I take her in my arms and hold her, " just a few minutes I promise" my reply. I had turned her so she was facing the direction we had come from. I turned her around just as the moon was about to break over the peaks of the mountains. Maybe it was the snow on the ground reflecting the light. Or how crisp the air was, without smog or a haze in the air it was almost day light bright outside. The moon was huge! It looked like if you drove up the road and up the mountain if you went fast enough you could make the jump and land right on the moon. I turned to her and said " I promise I will try to give you the moon and all the stars every day for the rest of my life if you'll promise to be mine ". First time I saw her tear up ( of many many to come), she was speechless ( only happened a few times in all the time i knew her). . . . . Example of the things men will do just to get laid. Guess I was just tummy from driving. Just another moon raise like any other. Seen one . . . . Took the pix a few nights ago during the full moon. HELLO !! Can I have every ones attention please ?!! Yes, this includes all of you in the JUST CHAT section too ! Altho most of you can figure out what this is... (Franks towing storage yard), maybe 2 of you kno where it is and truthfully I really think only one of you has been there. I’ve kept this yard a total secret. Not to mention how hard it is to get to. I’ve had to stop announcing when I leave and am suppose to arrive because of circumstances which I’m not going to go into at this time. But one of you keeps track and knows when I head out and pretty much calculates with in a very close margin of when I’ll be back. My drivers aren’t even sure when I head out unless they go to the yard and notice the truck is gone. I’m at a loss as what to do here. It’s kinda bumming me out that I’m doing this here in front of everyone. It’s been our little secret for so long. But I exhausted all my avenues of finding you (short of surveillance cameras ). I do love your cards and treats. I kno you get my messages because you answer me. I’ve gone as far as comparing your hand writing against all the other cards I’ve ever gotten (yes, I try to keep all cards ever given to me. No matter who from or the occasion. I figure that on my judgment day, when I’m standing in front of God and everybody and he looks at me and says You kno Frank I just can’t tell if you’re a good person or not. I can just whip out my boxes of cards given to me by friends and family, neighbors and coworkers, customers and just random people I helped on the side of the road. And he’ll look at all those and allow me to pass thru the gates into heaven )(this is just my theory, don’t like it ? Get your own). And no matches. I would like to meet you. At least buy you lunch, thank you for all the smiles your gifts have given me. If you go thru all that trouble, you can just call or text me and I’ll tell you when I’m headed or about to arrive. I really can’t express to you how great it actually feels to kno someone cares that I’m coming back and not calling just to find out where I am to see if the coast is clear for them. Keep this in mind. If you decide that this is where your most comfortable, then that’s ok with me too. But kno that my lunch offer will always stand, any time your ready.
