If you are or have a 12th grade student, please read/share! Students that are scheduled to graduate in May 2020 and plan to attend college. There is an opportun...ity for students to apply for financial aid. However, the deadline is fast approaching! The application period for Cal Grant consideration closes on Monday, March 2, 2020. Financial aid is dispersed based off the completion of either the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the California Dream Act Application (CADAA). If your student anticipates on attending any community college or university in California, then they should fill out one of the following two applications by Monday, March 2, 2020: 1. FAFSA application 2. California Dream Act Application Students who are planning to attend a Community College are especially at risk. In order for students to benefit from Two Years of Free Community College tuition, students must: - Complete the FAFSA or CADAA (Dream Act) - Full-time students (12 units per semester) - Be a resident of California - Be first-time college students Financial Aid assistance includes California State grants, federal grants, federal work study, scholarships and student and parent loans. A combination of these programs is designed to help students cover the costs of higher education. For more information, please contact your student’s high school counselor.
