While working with Sail Alaska, I had the opportunity to do some unique solo dives in back bays and inlets that have possibly never been dove. One of these locations was Santa Anna Inlet near Sitka. During the mornings we would see brown bears and eagles prowling along shore for an easy meal along with silver salmon jumping all around the boat. I took this chance to hop in and see what all the fuss was about. The salmon were very skittish, but there was also an abundance of m...oon jellyfish, such as the one pictured here. The mixing of a freshwater stream and the green ocean water created a special scene to which I knew I had to capture.
